Brian Winter is the editor-in-chief of Americas Quarterly and a seasoned analyst of Latin American politics, with more than 20 years following the region’s ups and downs. He lived in Brazil, Argentina and Mexico as a correspondent for Reuters before taking on his current role in New York, where he is also the vice president of policy for the Americas Society and Council of the Americas. Brian is the author of several books including Why Soccer Matters, The Accidental President of Brazil, and Long After Midnight. Proficient in Spanish and Portuguese, Brian speaks frequently about Latin America’s past, present and future to investors and general-interest audiences.

Derek Hall is a technology entrepreneur and investor, with a keen focus on Brazil and Latin America. He founded Torcedores in 2013, which quickly became one of Brazil's leading online sports content platforms under his leadership as CEO. In 2021, Hall co-founded Miggos, a B2B online fashion marketplace in Brazil. Miggos quickly found success and was acquired by AMARO, a prominent online fashion marketplace in Brazil, less than two years after its inception. Currently, Hall serves as a partner at BFF, an early-stage venture capital firm that invests in SaaS, Fintech, and software infrastructure companies in Latin America. Born and raised on the west coast of the United States, Hall has been living intermittently in Brazil since 2005.
